Today I’d like to show off a photo memory box I designed especially for my daughter, filled with special meaning and lots of love. Let me share more!

This project idea has been floating through my head since 2014.

Not much was written here before Christmas, but my German Shepherd Angel passed away after 14 years as my friend and companion.

Seven months have passed since I sat on the floor in the vet’s office with her in my lap, softly telling her everything would be alright and gently whispering goodbyes as we held hands close together on that floor. Even she knew it was time.

I miss Angel terribly. Although she was part of our family unit, she always belonged to me alone and followed me everywhere I went. Our youngest son was only two when we brought home this fluffy little six week old puppy; I will always remember his adorable face looking through the fence at me with longing.

My family misses Angel. Every year my daughter would go to the dollar store and purchase cone-shaped birthday hats for Angel to wear at her party; and Angel would accept this with no reservations whatsoever.

She would open her gift with gusto and “smile” at us every birthday; we celebrated 14 birthdays together which I know were truly a gift – considering German Shepherd lifespan is typically 9-13 years, that made 14 special birthdays even more so!

After I said my final farewell to Angel, I went back to the vet to collect her ashes and memorial box. While I still keep a reminder of Angel in my home, my daughter now lives alone so it would be wonderful for her to have one all of her own.

Today I’d like to show off a photo memory box I created especially for my daughter. This box holds special meaning and plenty of love – let me explain!

I have had many photo project ideas over time. Here is one such project idea I had:

Make any trinket box more special with this beautiful photo box – ideal for birthdays, holidays or simply to show friendship.

Though I hadn’t mentioned it here before, sadly a few weeks before Christmas I had to bid farewell to Angel, my German Shepherd companion of 14 years.

Seven months have passed since I sat quietly on the floor at my vet’s office with Angel’s head resting gently in my lap, assuring her of everything being fine – I think even she knew it was time for us both to say our final farewells.

Miss Angel terribly. Although Angel was part of our family pet pack, she always showed an affinity toward me and followed me around everywhere I went. Our youngest son was only two when we brought home that fluffy six week old puppy that belonged to me and will always remember his face looking through the fence at me with love and delight.

My family misses Angel, too. Each year my daughter would go to the dollar store and buy cone-shaped birthday hats as presents for Angel. When my daughter put the hat on my head without hesitation it wouldn’t bother Angel one bit!

As she would gladly tear into her wrapped gifts with her sharp teeth and smile for the camera, we celebrated fourteen birthdays together – something which I consider truly blessed given that German Shepherd lifespan typically ranges between 9-13 years. We were truly fortunate to share 14 love filled years together!

After my beloved furry companion Angel passed, I visited the vet to collect her ashes and memorial box. Although I still keep reminders of Angel in my home, her memory box will bring comfort to my daughter who now lives alone.

My daughter and I chose a photo they had taken together on Angel’s 12th birthday as my favorite memory of Angel. To complete my gift, I painted the box to match my daughter’s furniture and placed a small baggie of ashes, lock of tail hair from Angel and an inked paw print taken before we said our final goodbyes inside it.
